FAQ Customizable Reusable Cups

WHAT MATERIAL ARE THE REUSABLE CUPS MADE OF?

The material with which the cups are made is Homopolymer Polypropylene. It is a plastic material for food use and free of Bisphenol A.

WHY ARE THE CUPS REUSABLE?

The technical characteristics of the material and the design of the cups make up a product that is highly resistant to wear and impact. This durability factor in the reusable cup is the basis for its reuse.

WHY USE REUSABLE CUPS?

The term reusable defines a characteristic of the cup that, due to its durability, makes it ideal. In any case, the fact that a product is reusable opens the necessary possibility for the user to treat it that way. If the glass is reused many times, it is avoiding the manufacture of new glasses and therefore reducing the use of natural resources. As well as avoiding plastic waste in the environment.

WHAT IS THE RECYCLED CUP?

ANYONE CAN MAKE RECYCLED CUPS?

No, in order to be able to manufacture the recycled cups in a certified way, it is necessary to be part of a circular economy where the union of the different actors articulates a controlled chain of management, logistics, recycling and manufacturing.

WITH WHAT CERTIFICATIONS WE MANUFACTURE?

We manufacture reusable cups with 3 certifications:
UNE EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management)
UNE-EN ISO 22000:2015 (Food Safety Management)
UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management)

HOW THE REUSABLE CUPS ARE PERSONALIZED?

The techniques we use to decorate the glasses are screen printing, pad printing, In Mold labeling (for everything in color).

HOW IS THE SCREEN PRINTING TECHNIQUE ON REUSABLE CUPS?

Screen printing is an ancient technique. The design is applied to the glass via a polyester fabric attached to a rigid frame. The fabric has been marked with the design to be transferred, which is transferred onto the glass one by one. Decorations can be made with 1,2 or 3 inks, being of the highest quality, resistant and durable. It is optimal for reuse.

SCREEN PRINTING INKS ARE FOR FOOD USE?

No, there are currently no UV inks for decorating cups on the market that are for food use. For this reason, some considerations are established regarding decoration, such as preventing the ink from reaching the area of the mouth of the cup in order to avoid contact with the lips of the consumer.

HOW IS THE IML TECHNIQUE (FUL COLOR) IN REUSABLE GLASSES?

The IML (In Mold Labeling) printing technique is based on the application of a previously decorated Homo Polypropylene label in full color with the flexography technique, inside the injection mold. At the time of injection of the vessel, the label remains adhered to the vessel.
The process and decoration is of the highest quality, resistant and durable. The product is optimal for reuse and complies with all Food Safety Regulations.

WASHING REUSABLE CUPS IS SUSTAINABLE?

On a small scale or at a private level, yes.
On a massive level, no. Such as large events or consumption at festivals, concerts, major parties, etc. The use of water as a necessary resource for the reuse of the glass is hardly or not at all sustainable.
Let’s put data to the argument. There are companies in the national market that wash their glasses with systems that affect the following consumption:

EXPENDITURE PER PRODUCT UNIT (AVERAGE)

water 145ml
Electricity washing and drying machine 0.013 KW/h
Detergents 0.14 gr
Sodium hypochlorite (disinfectants) 7 ml
The data are completely experimental, that is to say, they respond to the reality of a certain glass washing process in our country.
Let’s imagine an event where 10,000 glasses have been recovered.
If these glasses are going to be recovered to be reused through the washing system, we will have a natural resource consumption of water of 1,450 liters of water (1.45 m3).
The industrial washing lines of the companies that supply reusable cups and offer their services can fill a constant washing structure of at least 8,000 to 20,000 cups per day.
If we extrapolate it to a season of six months washing continuously, we could say that the water cost per season in the case of less than 8,000 glasses a day is as follows:
8,000 glasses x 5 days a week x 4 weeks a month x a minimum of 6 months of annual work, gives us a total of 960,000 glasses washed with an approximate water consumption of 139,200 liters.
It is well known that one of the fundamental problems that we face in Climate Change is the issue of water, where it must be considered as a natural resource to be protected. Monigots is very clear that today, and more specifically in our country, it is inappropriate to consume these amounts of water to recover the reusable glass.

IN WHAT TYPES OF EVENTS ARE THE REUSABLE CUPS USED?

The reusable cups can be used in any type of large, small, private or collective event. So we can use them on birthdays, weddings, schools, Ampas, etc. Or in collective events such as concerts, festivals, major festivals, fairs, markets, conventions, hotels, restaurants, sports clubs, etc.
In short, any event that is sensitive to sustainability and the environment.
